Green Campus Day

During World Green Building Week in September, universities across Australia will open their doors for Green Campus Day – Tuesday 26 September 2017 – a day of sustainable events and tours for staff, students, business and industry representatives, visitors and the community.

The University’s Inveresk apartments are located on the banks of the North Esk River beside the University’s Inveresk campus. They are Tasmania’s first prefabricated timber-framed multi-storey residential development, combining prefabricated, lightweight timber framing with structural cross-laminated timber (CLT) instead of traditional concrete and steel.

Come and get a behind the scenes tour of the sustainable features of the Victoria University Kelburn campus. You will get to see and hear what Victoria has done to reduce carbon emisisons by 15%, improve biodiversity and reduce waste. The walking tour will be guided by Andrew Wilks – Sustainability Manager and Jonny Parker – Energy Analyst.
