Tasmania
Corey Peterson
Sustainability Manager
University of Tasmania
I have been active in the education sector for decades whether as a student, research assistant or employee. My Masters degrees in Environmental Science and Public Administration have enabled me to combine my personal and professional interests and allowed me to be active in sustainability issues generally, but specifically in Tasmania since arriving via an Antarctic research vessel in 1996. I am President of Sustainable Living Tasmania (NGO celebrating its 40th Anniversary of helping Tasmanians live more sustainably), a graduate of and mentor in the Tasmanian Leaders Program and led MacKillop College’s award-winning sustainability efforts in water conservation, renewable energy projects, and food garden for many years before moving to the University of Tasmania as Sustainability Manager in 2010.

Mark Boulet
Manager, Education Programs
Monash Sustainability Institute
Through our Green Steps program, I have been priviledged to work with students from an enormous variety of disciplines and tertiary institutions. I am constantly amazed at the transformation and empowerment that occurs when they are provided with new sustainability skills and knowledge. We can fundamentally influence the environmental footprint of our society by what we teach students on our campuses and the examples our institutions make for them. I look forward to sharing my experience and passion in this area with ACTS. Contact Mark

Paula Tovey
Manager, Environment
Deakin University
Paula has over twenty years experience in natural resource management. Recently joining the tertiary education sector in 2009, Paula has worked in local government, various state and territory governments and in the private sector, as an environmental regulator, behavioural change manager, environmental auditor, and in mining rehabilitation. Implementation of practical initiatives in the workplace to minimise the environmental footprint of the work place has been a common theme throughout. Paula believes that many opportunities exist within the tertiary education sector to share and promulgate ideas to further progress both state and national advances in environmental sustainability.
