ResourceSmart Tertiary Education
Linda Stevenson, RMIT
Stuart Galbraith, Sustainability Victoria
Rachael Keefe, Victoria University
Session Duration: 45 min
For many years institutions have focused on the operational aspects of sustainability, without addressing the core business of teaching, learning, research and curriculum. ResourceSmart Tertiary Education is a program developed by Sustainability Victoria which has assisted higher education, TAFE institutes and other government agencies in post secondary education in Victoria to shift the focus of sustainability to the core business of teaching, learning and research and auxiliary services.
This joint session from Sustainability Victoria, Victoria University and RMIT University will demonstrate the collaborative approach that has been taken across the Victorian Tertiary Education Sector to address sustainability and engage participants to think about how to engender support from leaders across the institution to take responsibility for their organisation’s sustainability program as well as discuss future trends and emerging issues in the sustainability space for tertiary institutions.
