Time and Sustainability metrics for tertiary Institutions

To address the question “What is sustainable?” it is necessary to define the end point or target. Repeated measurement of sustainability metrics such as energy and water use and carbon emissions provide the basis to track progress towards becoming more – or less – sustainable. However, targets such as moving to carbon neutrality or water self sufficincy won’t necessarily ensure sustainability. We need timeframes and targets.
By presenting a review and analysis of how time is represented in sustainabilityy assessments, this session will illustrate how including time can help make metrics more specific and meaningful.
