Conference Scholarship – Students
The ACTS Conference Scholarship is available for students of institutional members undertaking sustainability related studies in a Further or Higher Education institution. The scholarship is awarded annually; however, this will be subject to the annual budget established by the Board, and dependent on suitable applications being received.
Aim
The aim of the Scholarship is to provide an opportunity each year for a student undertaking sustainability focused learning and teaching and/or research and whose institution is a member of ACTS to attend the Annual ACTS Conference. The 12th International ACTS Conference will take place on 26 – 28 September 2012, jointly hosted by The University of Queensland, Griffith University and the University of the Sunshine Coast at the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Centre, Queensland. The theme “Mobilise and Motivate: Building momentum for a holistic sustainability approach” will address some of the key sustainability challenges facing professionals, managers, facilities, academics and researchers. Visit our conference pages for more information.
The Scholarship
The scholarship has a value of up to AUD$1500 incl. GST towards the cost of attending the conference. Where the total cost of attending the conference is less than AUD$1500, the scholarship will be the actual cost incurred.
The successful applicant will be required to produce a written report within 4 weeks of attending the conference (500 – 800 words). The report will be due for submission on 26 October 2012 and will be published in the ACTS newsletter and website. The report can cover questions including but not limited to:
- Why did you apply for an ACTS scholarship?
- What did you gain from attending the ACTS Conference?
- What was the highlight of the ACTS Conference?
