ACTS Development Scholarship
The Development Scholarship is available for employees of Institutional Members of ACTS undertaking sustainability related employment, research or learnings. The scholarship is awarded annually; however, this will be subject to the annual budget established by the Board, and dependent on suitable applications being received.
Aim
The aim of the scholarship is to provide an opportunity for a person employed in a sustainability focused role, or working to embed sustainability into learning and teaching within an ACTS member institution, to undertake a project or study tour that will develop that person’s knowledge, experience and skills, whilst providing a benefit to their institution and ACTS more broadly.
The Scholarship
The scholarship has a value of AUD$3000 inc. GST. The successful applicant will need support from their institution for both the time to undertake the project/study tour and the balance of the required fees beyond the scholarship value, should the total cost exceed AUD$3000.
The successful applicant will be required to produce a report within 4 weeks of undertaking the project/study tour, giving an outline of the benefits gained and how the new knowledge will be applied to the applicant’s work (600 – 1000 words). The article will also be included as a resource on the ACTS website.
Administration
The scholarship has a value of AUD$3000 inc. GST. This is the subsidy against expenses incurred as a result of undertaking the project/study tour. The successful applicant’s institution pays upfront costs and forwards a copy of the claims/invoices to the ACTS Treasurer for reimbursement of the ACTS (Scholarship) contribution.
