The ACTS Climate Action Group (ACAG) is a peer support group established to facilitate collaboration among ACTS members with a shared interest in climate action (including carbon accounting, offsetting, emissions reduction initiatives, etc.).

The objectives of the ACAG are as follows:

  • Networking: Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among ACTS members regarding greenhouse gas emissions and climate action.
  • Adaptive Management: Identify and disseminate current best practices and research for integrating emissions reduction initiatives into campus planning, design, and management.
  • Advocacy: Support advocacy efforts at local, regional and national levels to prioritise climate action in institutional policies and practices.

This group meets bi-monthly.

Members can express interest to join the working group via the Member Portal.

ACTS special interest groups, including Working Groups and Peer Support Groups, are established under the endorsement of the ACTS Board and CEO. Each group plays a vital role in advancing our mission and promoting sustainability across diverse domains.

Working Groups aim to leverage membership knowledge and feedback to address specific challenges or achieve defined outcomes. They also foster deeper engagement with members and provide a platform for shared voices within the network. Peer Support Groups are designed for specific cohorts of members to meet regularly, share insights, and build capabilities around particular programs or initiatives.

A call for volunteers is regularly issued through ACTS member communication channels, encouraging active involvement. Members are invited to join groups they are eligible for. Eligibility criteria vary depending on the group’s focus—some groups are only open to sustainability practitioners or individuals involved with specific programs, and certain groups may not be open to all membership categories (e.g., business members).

For more details on eligibility and available groups, please refer to the ACTS Groups page in the Member Portal. Each group operates under a basic Terms of Reference (TOR) to ensure clarity, focus, and effectiveness in achieving their goals.
