What does a closed-loop organic waste system actually look like on a university campus?

For this special ACTS of Connection webinar we joined the sustainability team from the University of Sydneylive to check out their on campus biodigester. Behaviour Change Senior Officer Ysobel Cranfield, Biodigester Operator and Gardner Ben Loughnan and Sustainability Engagement Specialist Madeleine Culp walked us through the full loop – how organic waste is collected across campus, how the machine works, and how the output goes back into campus gardens. The team covered the management side, the practical challenges, and how they are building education and engagement around an industrial composter in the middle of a working campus.
