Turning climate knowledge into confident classroom teaching. A curriculum-aligned, classroom-ready professional development program for secondary educators that builds confidence to teach climate change clearly, constructively and with practical solutions.
Our online Carbon Literacy course is a blended learning experience, with self-study elements alongside 2 half days virtual training, and is relevant climate change learning for everyone. Accredited by the UK-based Carbon Literacy Project (CLP), the course brings together information, videos, science backed data and online measurement and simulation tools to build a comprehensive understanding of carbon and greenhouse gas emissions and their sources.
This training is an important professional development opportunity for teachers to build confidence delivering climate change-related curriculum clearly, accurately and constructively. It is designed to align with the Australian Curriculum and includes ready-to-use classroom resources and practical teaching ideas you can apply straight away.
The engaging and interactive training allows participants to map their own carbon footprint, and gain the understanding and motivation to reduce personal and school-based emissions. It also supports teachers to translate climate knowledge into empowering, solutions-focused learning that builds student agency.
This course is developed collaboratively with educators and tailored to the secondary school context to support teachers to identify practical steps they can take in their classroom, school and wider community.
