Green Campus Day

World Green Building Week (WGBW) is an annual event held in September that motivates and empowers us all to deliver greener buildings. In 2018 WGBW will take place during 24 – 30 September.

During WGBW, ACTS will help campuses celebrate their sustainable buildings on our annual Green Campus Day. On Tuesday 25 September 2018, campuses across Australia and New Zealand will open their doors to staff, students, business and industry representatives, visitors and the community for sustainable events and tours that feature our innovative green buildings.

Registrations are open to institutions from across Australia and New Zealand to host an event on campus as part of 2018 Green Campus Day celebrations.

Green Campus Day is supported by

NZ   |   NSW   |   ACT   |   VIC

Ara Institute of Canterbury

The event theme is “the small things we do”.

Using a market stall concept over the course of a lunch hour, Ara will be promoting internally and externally the small contributions we are making towards Sustainability outcomes. This will be demonstrated across three dimensions:

  • Operationally what is Ara doing through the running of a significant Canterbury organisation;
  • Within the educational programmes delivered at Ara what are the elements that have a sustainability focus;
  • In what ways are students at Ara engaging in sustainability.

Visitor will be able to engage first hand with Ara students and colleagues to hear the journey and narratives that support our small steps. Significantly hosted in Kahuhura, this award wining building represents one of Christchurch’s most modern contributions to the Green Building network.

Time: 12.00 pm (duration 1 hour)
Venue: Corner of Madras and Moorhouse Ave, Christchurch
