Green Campus Day

World Green Building Week (WGBW) is an annual event held in September that motivates and empowers us all to deliver greener buildings. In 2018 WGBW will take place during 24 – 30 September.

During WGBW, ACTS will help campuses celebrate their sustainable buildings on our annual Green Campus Day. On Tuesday 25 September 2018, campuses across Australia and New Zealand will open their doors to staff, students, business and industry representatives, visitors and the community for sustainable events and tours that feature our innovative green buildings.

We are now inviting institutions from across Australia and New Zealand to host an event on campus as part of 2018 Green Campus Day celebrations.

Green Campus Day is supported by:

HOW IT WORKS

STEP 1 – Plan your event
Think about what kind of event you’d like to host or what sustainability initiative you’d like to showcase. Sustainable building tour? Edible garden tour? Sustainability research seminar?

STEP 2 – Sort out the details
Nominate time, duration, tour leaders, rsvp contact person etc. Obtain relevant permissions from faculty managers, security etc.

STEP 3 – Submit your event
Submit your event details to ACTS via the submission form below.

STEP 4 – Let ACTS do the hard part!
Our team will create an online registration listing for your event (via eventbrite), will list your event on the ACTS website AND we will submit your event to the GBCA or NZGBC for CPD points and listing on their respective websites.

STEP 5 – Get people to your event
Start promoting your event via your own communication channels. Green Campus Day events are free for all ACTS member staff and students to participate in, so it’s a great way to engage with your campus community to share your sustainability achievements. We’ll also provide you with some useful communication tools to help promote your event.

STEP 7 – Run the event
Make sure you take photos of your event and upload to your social media channels using #greencampusday

Some of the finer details:

  • ACTS Members are invited to run Green Campus Day events on Tuesday 25 September.
  • All Green Campus Day events should be free for your institution’s students, staff and any visitors from ACTS member institutions to participate in. In turn, ACTS will provide administrative support for each event at no cost to our members. Business and industry representatives, community members and external visitors that wish to participate in any Green Campus Day events are required to pay a nominal fee, payable to ACTS. For example, a 1 hour building tour is charged at $45AUD.
  • Non ACTS Member may also submit to run events on Green Campus Day, however an administrative fee will be payable. Please contact info@acts.asn.au for more information.
