The ACTS Sustainable Events Accreditation supports event organisers across Australasia to embed sustainability into every aspect of their event planning. Designed for small-scale conferences, seminars, workshops, and retreats (up to 300 participants), this certification provides a clear and practical framework to help reduce environmental impact, promote social responsibility, and showcase leadership in sustainable event delivery.
The Sustainable Events Accreditation is flexible, action-based, and tailored to the Australasian context. Event organisers complete a set of practical sustainability actions within an easy-to-use online toolkit. These actions span areas such as:

How it works:
The ACTS Sustainable Events Certification offers a flexible, step-by-step approach:
- Register your event through the online portal and gain access to the digital toolkit.
- Complete a set of 15 mandatory actions that establish a strong sustainability foundation.
- Choose from a menu of additional actions to progress to 2-star or 3-star recognition.
- Upload your evidence directly into the toolkit to track and verify progress.
- Undergo an audit by an ACTS-accredited reviewer to confirm completion.
- Receive your certification, digital badge, and public recognition via ACTS platform
Events are awarded a 1, 2 or 3-star rating, based on the level of sustainability action achieved and verified through a pre-event audit.
*Accreditation is valid for one event and comes with full support from ACTS throughout the process.
